According to the National Institute on Drug Policy and the Harmony Employee Health Letter, up to 25 percent of the average company's workforce suffers from alcohol or drug addiction, or has a family member with a drug problem.
In addition, employees who abuse alcohol or drugs are late to work three times more often, three times more likely to receive sickness benefits, four times more likely to be involved in on-the-job accidents, and five times more likely to file worker's compensation claims.
